5 Minutes With Kazzie

What inspired you to become a musician?

My love for music was always nurtured by my Dad but I wasn’t inspired to become a musician until after I started performing. I had little to no knowledge of the music industry or how it worked and just gravitated to it because it felt right. It wasn’t until I was fully immersed in music that it started to inspire me to continue and grow.

Who is your favourite/inspiring artist and why?

At the moment it is Lime Cordiale but it can change at any minute. It’s only been recently that I’ve opened my ears up to all different types of music and genres and everyone I come across is inspiring in their own way. Their lyrical or music techniques to get to end results are always inspiring and I try and take a lot from everyone to work out what and who I am as a musician.

Who is your go-to artist or what is your go-to playlist on spotify?

I enjoy hearing everything that’s trending at that given time and depending on the kind of day, I might sway into certain genre playlists or go and find some recommendations from friends or out of books.

First concert that made the biggest impression?

I didn’t go to my first concert until 2017.. haha it was ‘The Weeknd’ and every single concert I’ve been to since, has left an impression in their own way.

Most amazing gig moment you’ve had?

Opening up for The Rubens.

Most embarrassing gig moment you’ve had?

Playing before the Monster Trucks in Newcastle and a gust of wind catching my dress and flashing everyone mid song. Love that for me.

What are you working on at the moment?

As much as I’d love to say something musical, I’m not. I’m working on myself at the minute and really focusing on my brand and how we’re going to tackle getting back after this rollercoaster of a year.

What is the career milestone you have reached so far that got you really excited?

I wanted to be doing music full time by the time I was thirty. I turned 30 this year and haven’t had a ‘real’ job for three years. Each day, I try to put on a better performance tomorrow than what I did today and I always strive to do that.

What other milestones are you aiming to reach?

I want to have an EP released soon. It’s getting there but it may be a while.
