Ask us how The Big Bang can tailor a program especially for your event. For example their musicians can also be available for the wedding service and other musical interludes throughout your big day. The Musicians:
Steve Cowley: Steve is the last word in live guitar players in Newcastle and the Hunter. From TV session musician to stalwart of the Sydney scene, from there to hard rocking Newcastle institution, to jazz aficionado or country music award winner, Steve has done it all. As musical director of The Big Bang he uses his virtuosity and experience to guide and lead his colleagues. Steve’s flamenco, Latin, jazz, rock and funk guitar playing are the centre-piece of the amazing sound.
Carrie Holstein: Our resident Diva first came to notice for east coast audiences in the ‘funkadelic’ retro outfit Ultimate Freak Out, since then Carrie has moved from success to success in a number of high profile rock and dance line-ups in Sydney and Newcastle. Carrie’s upbeat stage presence, awesome vocals and natural feel for dance music will have you captivated, won over and dancing along.
James Brigden: Touring NSW as a keyboard player and backing singer in several hard-working covers bands, he only really moved to the front of the stage in the 90’s when he settled in Newcastle and started working as a solo, piano-man style performer. James now has residencies all over the Newcastle and Hunter region and has worked the Sydney corporate function scene as well. He has a well earned identity as the ‘party piano guy’ from his work in seedy (and some nice) bars.

The Big Bang were the PERFECT band for our wedding! I absolutely love them every time I hear them, which has been 5 times now! Before I booked them for my wedding, I saw them at 2 professional conference dinners and 2 more casual weekend gigs, and in all contexts they are just incredible. I had a big dream for my wedding and that was to get everyone on the dance floor for the WHOLE time the band played – and the Big Bang achieved just that! I couldn’t believe it! My wedding guests and I had the most amazing time dancing to the band; it was one of my most favourite parts of the whole wedding day! There is something so special about dancing to live music and the Big Bang definitely filled the dancefloor. Their sound is SO good and their playlist is so great for all ages. I had twenty-somethings and sixty-somethings all enjoying and dancing to the same music. I love that they have a jazzy side to their band and just had to have them play the sax! The band were even able to play my prerecorded first dance song over their speakers for us. Janelle and the team at EAO Entertainment made the booking process so easy. She was a great liason for the band. She made sure I had all the info I needed, and the band had all theirs! Thank you so much to everyone in the Big Bang and I can’t wait to hear you play again sometime soon.
– Natalie & Josh | Longworth House | September 2019
The Big Bang were amazing!!! I cannot emphasise enough how great they were. They had everyone moving on the dance-floor all night long. They were one of the highlights of the wedding. I loved them so much and I so appreciate how easy EAO made it, organising everything with them.
– Natalie Murray | Longworth House | September 2019

– Karen Flatt | Private 70th Birthday | Nelson Bay Golf Club | July 2019
Our recent weekend District Lions Convention ended with a dinner dance featuring The Big Bang. Everyone thought they were great! They created a party atmosphere with fabulous music and fun to celebrate our event. They had no problem catering for any age range from mid 30s to 70s. The music selection was the soundtrack of our lives. We can highly recommend The Big Bang for any similar large event.
– Diana Stewart | District Lions Convention Party | Club Macquarie | November 2018
The Big Bang were also fabulous! I think I danced all night (bride) along with a number of other guests. The music was easy to dance to, playing old classics and they even played our first and second dance songs live! This was wonderful, and has such special memories.
– Ellie | Wedding | Margan Wines | October 2018
Everyone thought The Big Bang were fantastic„.again! It was a great night. They played a lot of new songs which I really enjoyed. I had blisters on my feet from non-stop dancing„thatês always a good sign!
– Deanne Apostolou | Hippocrates Greek Ball | Saturday 25th May 2013
The Big Bang were perfect. Well received, laid back and totally on point. I haven’t been to a ball where just about all the guests danced or danced so much! It was a terrific night!
– Kim Simpson & Cary Lee | Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance Annual Fundraising Ball | Friday May 3rd 2013
The band was fantastic, I have had so many compliments and they have all asked that we book the Big Bang again for 2013!
On the night we had some last minute changes and the band were very flexible and accommodating. We actually had to move the awards side of things along as there was so much dancing early on that we wanted the formalities over and the partying to continue!
– Alex Goss | Corporate Gala Awards Dinner | Wednesday 20th February, 2013
The band absolutely made our night. Absolutely everyone commented how fabulous they were, even my 80 year old grandmother was the first on the dance floor and the last off.
– Carolyn Nichols | Wedding Reception | Saturday 9th February, 2013
