Before Covid-19 kicked off we were putting together lineups for Live N Local at Lizotte’s and one lineup we were really excited about was our Jazz Night, which unfortunately didn’t go ahead due to the restrictions. Check out some of our favourite local jazz inspired acts.
Slapjack
The band’s music captures everything great about funk/soul music from the killer horn lines to the groovy bass lines and throws a dance/rock twist into it with intense guitar parts and vocals that literally will hit you in the face. Their debut EP ‘The People That You Meet’ is out now and features 5 brand new tracks including the most recent single ‘Too Late’ which has already racked up over 1000 streams.

SPUZ
A 6 Piece fusion improvisational band Led by Andrew de Souza. They play original tunes that stem from funk/jazz/Prog Rock/metal. Spuz always know how to get you up and dancing and can ensure you a good time.

Bleu Collective
Bleu Collective only formed in the last year or so but they fill the venue every time they play. They’re inspired by the likes of Afla Mist, Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper & Snarky Puppy. When things get back to normal make sure you get to one of their gigs.

You know when you see a band that just has so much energy and you walk away from their show and you’re just so excited, well that is these guys. Their energy is infectious and the music is just as good. Get ready to boogie when you see these guys.
